What Working at  Looks Like

Technicians at ExpeDry don’t handle one narrow task. The work spans water extraction and structural drying, mold inspection and remediation, fire and smoke restoration, storm damage cleanup, content packout, and reconstruction, which ranges from drywall and framing to roofing. Below are more details.

FIELD SCOPE
What Technicians Work On
Every technician covers this full range of restoration work.
Water Extraction & Structural Drying
Industrial dehumidifiers, high-velocity fans, acoustic sensors, and infrared cameras to locate hidden leaks and drive moisture removal through walls and structural materials.
Mold Inspection & Remediation
Containment protocols, antimicrobial treatment of affected surfaces, and full documentation to support professional remediation standards.
Fire & Smoke Restoration
Post-fire antimicrobial treatment, smoke cleanup, and coordinated documentation for insurance claims.
Content Packout
Carefully packing, removing, cleaning, deodorizing, and securely storing a client’s belongings off-site while restoration work is underway.
Reconstruction
Drywall, framing, roofing, and storm damage cleanup, ranging from single-room repairs to full structural rebuilds.

Day-to-Day Field Work

On water jobs, we deploy industrial-grade dehumidifiers and high-velocity fans, placed to drive airflow and moisture removal through walls and structural materials. We use acoustic sensors and infrared cameras to locate hidden leaks inside wall cavities and ceilings before they become bigger problems. After water or fire damage, we apply antimicrobial treatments to affected surfaces to inhibit mold and bacteria.

Content packout is its own discipline: carefully packing, removing, cleaning, deodorizing, and securely storing a client’s belongings off-site, all while restoration work is underway. Every phase of every job is documented: photos, notes, and forms that support insurance coordination and keep the project moving without confusion.

What Field Conditions Require

Restoration work is urgent and varied. No two jobs are identical. Technicians work in conditions that require PPE, attention to containment protocols, and the ability to adapt quickly. The industry has formal credentialing through organizations like the IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification), and the hands-on skills built in field work are the foundation for that kind of professional development.

What We’re Looking For

The qualities that fit our team correspond directly with how we operate. We move immediately when a call comes in. We communicate clearly with clients who are under real stress. We follow the work through on our commitments and don’t cut corners. If that standard matches how you already approach your work, you’ll fit in here.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The Profile That Fits
PHYSICAL READINESS
Demanding field environments, irregular schedules, and on-call availability are part of every role.
RELIABILITY & FOLLOW-THROUGH
Prior restoration or construction experience is a strong foundation, but reliability and follow-through matter more than a narrow prior resume.
DOCUMENTATION & SAFETY
Attention to safety protocols, PPE, and thorough job documentation are standard requirements on every site.
VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE
A valid driver’s license is standard for all field roles.
